day 91 blog 79 olive tree part 2

my friend and neighbor, julie, is also an artist and art instructor (check out her online courses on her website). she came up with a photography collaboration project where participants take photos of one tree in the summer (see my first post along with cute photos of story when he was only 6 months old here), again in the fall (this is my second post in the series) and then again in the spring...so last time i posted 6 photos and now i hope you'll humor me i could only narrow it down to 14! ha! so i guess i'll be up to 20 by the spring...
here is a close-up of the semi-changing leaves...
and one of a few over-ripe olives still hanging in there...i meant to look into a local "crop-swap" to see if people would actually come pick them for me and give me a jar of cured olives in exchange for taking all of the rest of the olives...maybe next year...
this is the view from our family room sliding glass door and looking towards the garden in the background...
on a clear day you can see the ocean in the gap to the left of the tree...
this is similar to a shot i took in the summer only the shadow of the tree was more pronounced (and you could see my shadow in the photo)...you can see all the olives that dropped off on the sidewalk...and san diego state university to the right of the tree...
i tried to delete this photo since it isn't that great but you can kinda see where we eat outdoor meals and the view...
this one you can kinda see the traffic lights on the highway (just under the hummingbird feeder)...
and then sea said "i want to be in the photo mommy!" so i tried to balance getting the tree in there along with wiggling subjects and, well, most of these are blurry but i had to throw them in anyway cuz this blog is about my journey as a mommy and i adore them!
they love one another most of the time...
you can see some palm trees in the distance...california staple...
sea getting more dramatic...
and a couple "posed" shots which is rare for her...i don't usually like flash shots but it changes up the lighting so the sunset looks more intense...
ok that's it! now check out julie's post about her tree here. and look for part 3 in the spring!

  2. thanks for the opportunity, julie! i forgot to add one reason i wanted to take the same shot is because (as you know) here in san diego our climate is so similar year round i thought it would be cool if all three of my shots were close to the same...i forget how lighting, time of day, subjects in the foreground and background can really change things up!
