day 80 blog 65 meeting meadow

meadow geneveve (sp?) flora hensel was born october 28, 2009. she is my sister-in-law missy's first child and if you can't tell by the photos that follow...ADORABLE...sea and story have two other cousins...manuel's other sister, michelle's two daughters skye (almost 7) and ayva rain (4) so you can see we have a theme in our family with the outdoors and/or concepts...i really love her name...she looks more like sea and story than skye or ayva did when they were born. i'll be curious to see if she keeps the light eyes (sea is the only one with blue/gray...the rest have brown)...looks like her hair color is in between, too...darker and more brown than my children but also less red which is interesting if you see how much red her dad has...
manuel and his sister missy holding meadow
i can't resist feet shots...

story pointing to his new cousin...we visited her on halloween...

more pointing...

i love how engaged they both are...eyes locked in amazement of one another...
sea was really excited to have a new cousin, too...

i wish i had these tender shots of her holding/touching her own brother...but i have to remember she was just over 2 then and not quite as capable of being "gentle"...
story was excited, too...lunging over sea's shoulder here...

i know this next series is almost the same shot but each change (looking down, kissing, etc. brought more tears to my eyes so i kept clicking)...

story learned how to say "cheese" to the camera and threw in some waves (hello? goodbye?)

saying farewell...story, daddy, mommy, sea, meadow and missy...we love you!

  1. What fun!! I know what you mean about continuing to click even though it's the same shot. I did that with my new niece and her momma. I took a few dozen shots as she held and cooed with her little one.

I truly is a miracle to hold a newborn. I'm glad your family got to do so! Thanks so much for bringing us with you.

I really like all the names you mentioned - truly outdoorsy :)
